The program of social enterprises at the Orpe Human Rights Advocates is designed for both business and social goals. Our main purpose is to promote, encourage, and assist in effecting positive change in the lives or social status of homeless or at risk-homelessness individuals, veterans, or low-income families. The program aims to transform homeless individuals, veterans, and low-income families from the status of insufficient income to the status of sufficient income. Social enterprise programs at Orpe Human Rights Advocates are driven by the idea of collecting working capital through the fundraising process and investing these funds into lucrative businesses.  The major part of task forces associated with each social enterprise project will be composed of trained peoples in the state of homelessness, veterans, and low-income families. For the purpose of reducing income disparities, wages will be based on the social-economic trends, but not on the services rendered. Under this model, profits will be serving first to fulfill the basic needs expected to move employees' power of purchase into similar conditions as those of sufficient incomes. This would remove peoples from the status of low-incomes and replaced to the of sufficient incomes.

 

While all businesses aims toward making profits to be shared among shareholders, the Orpe Human Rights Advocates' Model foster for the empowerment of the lifestyle of its task forces' community.

Orpe Human Rights Social Enterprise Model presents three benefits: 1) the model will be eliminating homelessness among veterans, or low-income individuals, and families; 2) the model will be reducing US citizens'  dependency on welfare as the status of homeless, veterans, low-income families will be transformed from insufficient income to the status of sufficient income; and 3) the model is expected to revamp the economy as the social enterprises will reduce the rate of unemployment and increase the power of purchase in household. This model can be applied at the local, regional, and national levels.

Our goal at Orpe Human Rights Advocates is to create our own financial capability to avoid or reduce dependency on philanthropy, grant money, donations of the federal programs, and reach the level in which we can sustain ourselves over the long term. One of our goals is to strive for the expansion by replicating the model to other communities to generate more impact. As a hybrid model, we'll be able to control the curriculum and funding of the programs.
